We are very glad to announce that, contextually with their performance in Occultofest on Sat 25th, Italian/New Zealander duo Fausto Maijstral will present their first release on cdr, made especially for the festival. The cdr presents two tracks of live recordings, mixed and mastered by History of Colour Tv´s Jaike Stambach, and an artwork realized by Alice Cannava´ from Occulto magazine from a picture by Will Gresson.

There will just 20 copies, so be sure to be there on time!

I could now start telling you a beautiful story that starts with a minitour from Locarno to Hamburg through Berlin, and ends up in a Penthouse in Marzahn. But Occulto Fest is starting in less than 72 hours and I will save the details for another occasion.

Boring Machines is the one man label founded by Onga in 2006. In few years it has published almost 40 releases (both vinyls and CDs), almost all of them conceived by Italian musicians - with a very few exceptions. You can’t stick BM musical offer to any precise genre, still the label has its own unique style, that has been noticed and appreciated by magazines like Wire and Skug, which is a very good thing, but as we care more about music rather than about press coverage, here’s what Onga himself says about his creature:
“There isn’t a particular genre Boring Machines is interested in, but a feeling: a general taste for discomfort and anger, long meditations and psychedelic state is what Boring Machines cares of.
Boring Machines loves paper and ink and takes great care of the artworks and packaging of its records.”

In 1910 Paul Otlet envisioned a “city of knowledge” that would put all
the world’s information into one place. Initially called the “Palais
Mondial” this project later became the Mundaneum. After World War I.
Otlet convinced Belgium to give him space to host this endeavor and he
was given rooms in a government building in Brussels. The Mundaneum
grew to 15 Million Index cards in it’s final year 1934. The collection
included letters, newspaper clippings, images and various other types
of information. In ancient times Zeuxis of Heraclea painted grapes on
a wall that looked so real, that birds tried to pick them. His
archnemesis Parrhasios painted a veil over other early street art and
Zeuxis was tempted to lift the veil to see the pictures. In a seminar
from 1964 Jaques Lacan talked about a dream he had the night before.
In this dream he arrived at the lecture, but there were no students.
He awoke with a satisfied feeling that his students had discovered his
teachings to just be a veil with nothing to them. Information and
knowledge might as well be this veil and to come to a proper
understanding…
